June 16th Elections for the 2014/2015 Board

Official Positions 2014/2015 Elections:

To be voted on June 16th @ 7:00pm at the hall.  Come put your name in for the position of your choice!

• President: This person would be a hall member & an Executive member, attend executive meeting and if misses 3 consecutive meetings will be relieved of their position, oversee all financials and reports, encourages board roles and responsibilities, discusses any issues related to hall, may sit on another committee in the hall, and develops agenda and chairs the meetings
• Vice-President: This person would be a hall member & an executive member, attend executive meeting and if misses 3 consecutive meetings will be relieved of their position, assist president with their duties, help create agendas, would replace President when that President is unavailable, may sit on another committee in the hall
• Secretary: This person would be a hall member & an executive member, attend executive meeting and if misses 3 consecutive meetings will be relieved of their position, record meeting minute, type up and distribute to board members shortly after meeting is done, provide hard copy and online copy for all members to review at their leisure, would be familiar with by-laws to make sure meetings are run according to by-laws, manage emails and mail and distribute accordingly, may sit on another committee in the hall
• Treasurer: This person would be a member of the hall & an executive member, attend executive meeting and if misses 3 consecutive meetings will be relieved of their position, manages finances of the organization, administers fiscal matters of the board, provides annual budget for boards review, ensures financial policies and procedures are in place, may sit on another committee in the hall
• Member at Large: This person would be a hall member, they would be required to attend executive meetings ( if misses 3 consecutive meetings will be relieved of their position), would be familiar with hall by-laws and would make sure the board was following these by-laws, would have a vote on the board, this position can be filled by as many people that want to be a part of a board
• Social Committee Leader : This would be a member of the hall, would form a group of members to develop social events at the hall ( such as dances, dinners, bingo night, pancake breakfast, Christmas party extra), would create budget needed to put on events and submit to board for approval, work with committee to create the event
• Program Coordinator: This would be a member of the hall, would seek out programs to bring into the hall for the community ( such as Kung Foo, yoga, cadets, art programs, youth groups, extra), form a committee to run programs that require assistance, can sit on other committees
• Skating Rink Coordinator: would form committee which would work together to getting a skating rink in the community, work on proposals, grants, sponsors, volunteers, everyone would work as a team to complete project, would submit budget to the board for review
• Community Garden Coordinator: would form committee to work together in creating a community garden in the back yard of the hall that would suit the community, would submit budget and blue prints for the board to review, everyone would work as a team to complete project
• Volunteer & Member Coordinator: would help bring in members, do membership drives, help finding volunteers for events
All executive members will receive a free hall rental but is still required to get any licensing, insurance, and pay a damage deposit.

All board members will receive 10% off a hall rental.

Other duties that are needed to run a hall are website management, social media, newsletters, sign advertisements, advertising, program rental cleaning checks.

New Board- Elections

Every year a new community centre board is voted in. The current board members can stay on if voted in, or new people have the opportunity to come on board and be voted in by other parkland village residents. There is a meeting coming up next week. Join us June 16th, 2014 at 7:00pm, doors at 6:30pm for Elections.

The following are executive board positions must be filled in order for the Community Centre to survive another year.

-Vice President

-Treasurer

-Secretary
